International Colloquium Local Gender Equality
On the 27th of June, at 2p.m., the Centro de Informação Urbana de Lisboa (CIUL) will host the International Conference of Local Gender Equality - Gender Mainstreaming in Local Communities. This meeting is the final step of the LGE Project - Local Gender Equality, developed in partnership with CH Academy and is intended for publicizing the guides developed in various areas of local government, such as Planning, Mobility and Safety, Health and Social Action, Education, Employment, Training and Violence at Work, Culture, Sports, Youth and Leisure.
The LGE - Local Gender Equality is an international project organized by the Centre for Social Studies (CES / UC) and developed in partnership with the Municipalities of Ferreira do Alentejo, Lagoa, Mangualde, Pombal and Póvoa de Lanhoso and the Centre for Gender Research of University of Oslo as an international partner.
The project´s main goal was to develop methodologies and tools for gender equality promotion and facilitation of reconciliation between spheres of life by the local governance structures; conceive, test and validate instruments with the municipalities partners and their stakeholders in the various fields of territorial action - Planning, Housing and Environment; Education, Health and Social Action; Culture, Sports, Youth and Leisure; People Management, Training and Employment; Communication and Participative Citizenship; Mobility and Security; calling for concerted reflection on the desired social change in the context of gender equality, combating injustices observed; disseminate and share results and project instruments by all municipalities and inspire, motivate and facilitate change in the context of gender equality in municipalities.
